32 Years.

I just watched the Dodgers win the World Series.

It happened while donning my Kershaw jersey, sitting next to my dad in a quiet, empty local restaurant. We shared a beer and a pizza, all while I talked his ear off about stats and players. I couldn't imagine celebrating any other way.

My Dad and I at a Dodger game in Giants territory— September 30th 2016

My Dad has been a Dodger fan all of his life, and he instilled that losing fandom in me (not a losing franchise anymore huh!). What better way could I have celebrated that win?

Although super excited about the dub, I wasn’t able to scream, because it wasn’t the vibe in a NorCal SF Giants lovin’ town… but that’s okay.

I am absolutely ecstatic for Clayton Kershaw to finally get this win after breaking his postseason curse. Without him, the Dodgers franchise wouldn’t be the same, and now with a legal* championship under his belt, I hope that people take his game more seriously in the postseason.

I am also so stoked that Corey Seager won MVP of the Series and MVP of the league. He deserves it.

To add to this player appreciation segment, I bet the Red Sox aren’t feeling too good about trading Mookie right about now, who, minus the error in game 4, was definitely a frontrunner for the MVP award.

Just to keep it short and sweet, it means the world to me that I could share this overdue championship experience with my pops beside me, being the daddy’s girl that I am.

& I’d like to leave you with a message from the both of us:

SUCK IT ASTROS!

Dodgers Choke in Game Four, & I Choke on my Tears

Fate caused two errors, and the Dodgers choked up another loss to add to their books.

How am I doing right now? I am sad, depressed, upset, perturbed.

I have been a Dodgers fan since a wee gal, and have yet to see them win the World Series in my whole lifetime... plus 12 years. 1988 was the last year that they took that championship win. Although they have recently been going to the WS the past couple years, the Dodgers have choked each time, including tonight.

This game was insane though if I'm being honest. It was the quickest I’ve seen in my life, as far as time not passing slowly.

Seven straight scoring innings is big for a regular baseball game, but then again we aren’t watching any regular game. With The Coco ruining a lot of entertainment, and the fact that this is the World Series, it should be the Dodgers’ year to take home the Commissioner’s Trophy.

During the first game of this series, the unimaginable happened… Kershaw played a great post-season game (currently praying that he pulls through while pitching game five). This is factoid number one for the Dodgers to slip past their usual loss of the championship.

My own artwork of Kershaw circa 2016... and the reason why I’m not an art major.

Walker Buehler (the guy who looks like Benedict Cumberbatch’s brother/son) pitched a magnificent game yesterday with 10 K’s in just six innings. Walker’s beautiful pitching is another reason why the Dodgers should take the win this year.

The man with the tightest pants in all the league... Walker Buehler.

The last reason why the Dodgers should get this dub, is because they haven’t done it for 32 FREAKING years (cue Andy from the office punching a wall). It's about TIME they pull out this win, and prove that they would have won the 2017 World Series, had the Astros not been a bunch of cheater cheater pumpkin eaters.

Can the Dodgers pull out of this year on top? Only time will tell.

Sincerely,

a stressed lifelong Dodger fan… but also a college student who has no more room for this kind of pressure.
